Basic Information on Mini Trucks
The low cost alternative to ATV’s.
These 4x4 mini trucks, sometimes called “Kei” trucks, have a cab and a larger bed than any
standard ATV; and better mileage than any quad - at about half the price of a standard
4x4 ATV.
The ‘80’s models are 40 horsepower 550 cc engines; the ‘90’s and 2000’s models are
45 horsepower 660 cc engines. They are equipped with a 4 or 5 speed manual
transmission or an automatic transmission.
Kei trucks have changed in size over the years, but for comparison, are typically about
2/3 the length and 3 /4 the width of a Dodge Dakota.
